Program
Normandy Battlefield Tour

Day 1:

The first day will be dedicated to our trip to Normandy.  Films and documentaries will be shown during the ride. In addition, there will be some stops at roadside restaurants.

On arrival in Normandy we will visit the Pegasus Bridge. British troops fought hard here to get their hands on this important bridge. We look at the history of this battle at the Pegasus Bridge Museum. Then we visit Ranville cemetery, where many victims of the 6th British Airborne Division rest.

Day 2,3 and 4:

During these days we will follow a varied and impressive program, including a visit to Pont-du-Hoc, a huge cliff on the border of Utah and Omaha Beach.

We visit Grandcamp Maisy, an excavated bunker complex.

In St. Mère Eglise we reflect on the story of the American paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division who were dropped here on the night of 5 to 6 June 1944.

At Dead Man's Corner we make a virtual flight in a flight simulator of a Dakota C47 – Skytrain.

We also go to German defenses such as the tunnel system of Battery Azeville and the coastal battery at Longues sur Mer.

Of course, the landing beaches of Omaha Beach, Utah Beach, Gold Beach and Sword Beach should not be missed these days.

We will also pay tribute  at the American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer to the 9386 victims who are buried here.

This is a small selection of the known and unknown places that we will visit with you during these days.

Day 5:

During this last day we will look back together on everything we have seen and heard in the past few days. We cannot leave Normandy without remembering the war dead. We will do this together in Ver-Sur-Mer at the British Normandy Memorial. After this we will continue our way back to the Netherlands where we will stop again in Breda and Utrecht.
With this our 5 day trip to Normandy has come to an end. We hope to have given you a good picture of how the freedom of Europe started during Operation Overlord. And how important it is to spread the word and especially how grateful we should be that these men and women gave their lives for our freedom today.
